The Effect of Bottom Ash on the Compressive Strength and Tensile Strength of HVFA Concrete

This paper focuses on the effects of High Volume Fly Ash (HVFA) concrete with high content Bottom (BA) as a fine aggregate. A strength target 45 MPa 12 � 2 cm slump was determined control. The tests that carried out were compressive at age 3 to 90 days ages and splitting 28 ages, test, measurement heat hydration, autogeneous shrinkage. Variations in mix tested HVFA without BA FA 50% - 80%, sand replacement. In general, use volume mixture provided an increase both initial final all variations. internal curing effect by accelerated hydration solidification process early age, thus giving increasing mechanical properties concrete. However, acceleration accompanied which have greater absorption compared also caused workability decreased.
